Oscelyra — Privacy Policy

Last updated 11 August 2026

What Oscelyra is

Oscelyra is educational software for medical students and clinical trainees practising OSCE-style consultations with simulated patients. It is not a medical device, it does not provide medical advice, and it must never be used for the diagnosis or treatment of real patients. All patients in the app are fictional.

Data we store about you

Oscelyra has no user accounts. We do not ask for your name, email address, or any other identifying information, and we hold no user database.

Your practice history — attempts, scores, streaks, weakest areas, exam date, and goals — is stored only in the app’s local storage on your own device. It is never uploaded to us. Deleting the app deletes this data permanently.

What leaves your device, and where it goes

To make the simulated patient talk and to mark your consultation, the text of your station conversation is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic (the Claude API) and returns the reply. Anthropic processes this content to generate the response. We do not use your conversations to train AI models, and our provider agreements do not permit them to do so either.

To give the patient a spoken voice, the patient’s reply text is sent to ElevenLabs, which returns the audio. Your own voice is never sent to ElevenLabs.

When you speak to a patient, speech-to-text is performed by Apple’s speech recognition on your iPhone. Depending on your device and language settings, Apple may process that audio; this is governed by Apple’s privacy policy. Oscelyra never records, stores, or transmits your audio, and no recording is kept after a station ends.

Station transcripts are held in memory for the length of your session so the patient can remember the conversation and the examiner can mark it. We do not store transcripts on our server after the request completes.

What we do not do

We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers. We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not use analytics or advertising identifiers. We do not build a profile of you for marketing purposes.

Server logs

Our server keeps short-lived operational logs (timestamps, request paths, error messages) to keep the service running and diagnose faults. These logs are not used to identify individuals and are not retained long-term.

Deleting your data

Because everything personal to you lives on your device, you can erase it all at any time by deleting the app. If you would like anything else removed or have a question about your data, contact us at the address below.

Children

Oscelyra is intended for medical students and clinical trainees, and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and the date shown above.
